MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Provides high quality guidance and medical support in a timely fashion to external and internal customers


Medical Director Key Tasks:
  • Contributes to the running of the Company as a member of Novartis Ireland Senior Management Team.
  • Takes care of the medical training of sales representatives and other staff.
  • Provides medical approval for promotional and advertising material; ensuring that it complies with the current Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) Code of Marketing Practices and Novartis guidelines.
  • Supports the different Business Units (Marketing and Sales).
  • Assists in developing and executing pre-launch activities.
  • Provides medical approval where appropriate to business decisions. · Liaise with the Development Department in Basel (our Headquarters in Switzerland) and the Medical Department of UK.
  • Assists clinicians in the production of protocols which comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements.
  • Answers medical queries from internal and external customers.
  • Controls Medical Department budget and costs.
  • Assist local Registration Officers, Clinical Safety Officer, Clinical Trial Monitors and Department Administration where necessary.
  • Meet with the Irish Medicines Board when appropriate.
